Medical English Terms (METS) for iOS — Privacy Policy
Hefei Mingmo Information Technology Co., Ltd. ("we") operates the iOS version of "Medical English Terms (METS)" (the "App"). This policy applies to the iOS version only. Contact: developer@mingmotech.com.cn.
1. We do not collect personal information
The App has no accounts and no sign-in. The vocabulary library, scene images, study records, word list, word books and flashcards all live on your device. We do not collect your name, phone number, email, location, contacts, photos or usage data, and the App contains no third-party SDKs, analytics, ads or crash reporting.
2. The only online feature: AI Word Lookup and card images
When you look up a word outside the library, your device sends three things to our server (mingmotech.com.cn): the word, a randomly generated device identifier (unrelated to your Apple ID or any identity), and whether you are a Premium user. We use them only to limit daily lookups per device and to cache generated cards for all users. The server passes the word to a large-language-model provider (DeepSeek), which receives nothing but the word.
Card images are first fetched by our server from Pixabay and stored on our server, so Pixabay never sees your information. When no suitable image exists, your device requests an image directly from Wikimedia Commons, and the Wikimedia Foundation receives the word and your network address (its privacy policy: https://foundation.wikimedia.org/wiki/Policy:Privacy_policy).
Our server keeps only a per-device daily lookup counter (cleared daily) and a card cache with no device information. Email us to delete records tied to your device identifier; we respond within 15 business days.
3. On-device data and system features
Study records, saved words, word books, flashcards, test scores, nickname and pronunciation settings are stored only on your device; deleting the App deletes them all, and we cannot read them. Subscription status is kept by Apple and can be recovered with "Restore Purchases".
Pronunciation uses iOS speech synthesis; definitions for out-of-library words may use the iOS system dictionary; review reminders are local notifications, requested after your first study session and switchable off in "Me → Review Reminder" or in Settings. The App does not request microphone, camera, location, contacts or photo permissions.
4. Premium purchases
Premium is an auto-renewing subscription handled by Apple In-App Purchase. We never see your payment details or Apple ID; subscription status is read only on your device through StoreKit. Apple's privacy policy applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
5. Minors
The App is intended for users aged 16 and over; minors should use it under a guardian's guidance.
